Our Mission

Family Life Missions exists to partner with God to place the lonely in families.

Our Vision

Hope, health, and stability define the community, with the church leading the way.

Our Values

  1. We partner with God to bring His Kingdom to further fruition on earth.
  2. Prayer is the cornerstone of our ministry, and the Holy Spirit is our guide.
  3. We believe the church is God’s answer to the orphan crisis.
  4. Excellence and best practices are paramount in everything we do.
  5. Restoring relationships with God, others, self, and creation alleviates poverty.
  6. The clients we serve are our number one priority.
  7. We care for the children of others as if they were our very own.
  8. Every child belongs in a loving family.
  9. Our donors are worthy of our kindness, respect, and honesty.
  10. Continual learning, training, and reevaluation are critical to our success.

Our History

Since 1993 Family Life Missions (FLM) has served vulnerable children and families in Catacamas, Honduras. Founded as a Christian residential home for children whose biological families could not care for them, FLM has grown to provide Family Preservation, Foster Care, and a nationally recognized Christian Bilingual School open to the community. We also offer trauma-informed therapy for children who have been through difficult situations in our Holistic Care Center.

In 1997, Family Life Missions moved from one home to a village of four residential homes called Por Los Niños that provides loving houseparents for children in a family setting. As we have reintegrated children into their biological families when possible, our need for several residential homes has lessened. We have broadened our spectrum of child care to include Family Preservation — supporting and empowering families with the tools and resources they need to lead full, healthy Christian lives. This includes  “Building Dreams,” that partners with a family in need, our staff, donors, and the local church to work together to build a safe, healthy, and secure home for a family.

Working with the Honduran government, our Foster Care program is one of the first to be accredited in the country. We recruit families from local churches and provide intensive foster care training. Abandoned or abused children under five years go directly into these loving, Christian homes.

At FLM, we strive to meet each child’s spiritual, emotional, intellectual, psychological, and social needs. Helping families stay together with the right tools and resources can give children and families a hand-up instead of a handout. need.

Everything we do at FLM centers on our mission: to partner with God to place the lonely in families while maintaining our vision that hope, health, and stability define the community, with the church leading the way.
