Taryn, our Por Los Niños intern, finished her term here at the village. She and our Executive Director Gene Green went back to the USA on Saturday. We are so very grateful for her 9 months of love and service with the children here in Catacamas. She is a beautiful young woman and will be attending Harding University in the Fall.

While she was interning here, Taryn helped to organize the village warehouse, translate for our Executive Director, and mentor some of our older Por Los Niños girls. Taryn has a heart for the children of Honduras and promised to return very soon. She is missed by all here at the village – especially House 4 which became her “home away from home.”

We threw a surprise fiesta for her going-away party. It was a great party full of pizza, singing, ice cream and cake. We also had a chance to sing “Happy Birthday” to all the Por Los Niños kids celebrating their birthdays this month. At the end of all the hugs, laughter, and a few tears we bid Taryn “Hasta Luego.” (See you later!) After all, it’s not a goodbye – she’s family and will be back soon.

Thanks to Taryn for all her hard work. We love and miss her already.
