Born 1995 Carmen is a sweet and tenacious young woman. She is full of laughs, stories and smiles. She loves to keep people entertained and is very helpful around the village. She has a pet rabbit and takes very good care of it. BioCarmen became a Por Los Niños child in February of 1996. Carmen's mother was abandoned by Carmen's father before the birth of their child. Her mother struggled to support her three children on $40 per month. Carmen was often left with her grandmother who was very ill and unable to properly care for a child. Afraid and hopeless, Carmen's mother turned to Por Los Niños for assistance. Upon admission to Por Los Niños, Carmen suffered from malnutrition, parasites, and dysentery. Today, she is a healthy, happy and humorous young woman. Carmen loves to tell jokes and speak in gibberish languages. She can always be relied on for a hilarious, well-timed remark. Carmen is smart, creative and loves to take care of her pet rabbit and the dogs that live at the village. |
